An extremely rare pair of blown glass garden cloches dating from the nineteenth century. These could be transformed into suspended light fittings or displayed on a console. They were originally used in a potager as a portable glass house to help vegetables (lettuce, melons, etc.) to ripen and protect them from rodents. Some wear - refer to photos.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
